Course Care – September 2024

We have been hard at work to keep the course in top condition for your best playing experience. We have completed the spraying of insecticide on the greens and tee boxes to prevent worm attacks and considering the recent weather in Ipoh, we have also applied preventive fungicide across the course.

To improve the aesthetics and challenge of the course, we have planted new trees at Holes 1, 5, and 6 as we trim the trees at the Valley and Waterfall nines. We have also fertilised the fairways on all three nines to promote healthy grass.

Additionally, we are repairing the broken drainage systems and sumps across the course. This is vital to ensure that excess water is efficiently drained to prevent any disruption during your game.

In preparation for the upcoming 66th Perak Amateur Open, several strategic adjustments are being made to elevate the challenge and playability of the course. We will be increasing the height of the rough to a standard tournament height of minimum 40mm. Plus, we will cut down on the frequency of mowing around the tee box to create a more distinct shape for each tee box.

In line with the requirements of the tournament, we will be repositioning the tees with the Red tees being moved to the White markers and the Black tees being shifted to the Blue positions. In efforts to clearly define the fairway cut and rough line at the landing areas as per tournament standards, we will also be reshaping the fairways on Holes 5 and 6.

Looking ahead, our team is fully engaged in preparations for the upcoming Perak Amateur Open and Monthly Medal tournaments. We are dedicated to delivering an immaculate experience for golfers during both tournaments.
